FreshwaterGroup is an executive advisory group. We provide a platform for our key business relationships, predominately in the property, resources, infrastructure and agriculture, with managing and delivering integrated funding solutions.
Our fee structure is simple, transparent and aligned with our clients and the value of their businesses and investments.
We hold an Australian Financial Services Licence and also provide discretionary management of funds and implement investment choices in consultation with our clients. We take responsibility for managing investment performance, compliance and risk management.

Freshwater Group is based in Sydney and owned by its founders.

The team at Freshwater Group has a diverse skill base in property, banking and business operations, business and project finance, funds and risk management. Each member has a demonstrated capability in protecting value during difficult market conditions and delivering positive outcomes for our clients. We are committed to building and preserving asset value and managing business risks for our clients.

Our clients choose how often we meet to review the core business model and the commercial foundations of their business, project or investment and the management of its financial return.
We work regularly with our clients and their financiers (including banks) to agree reporting structures and the business metrics to monitor and report good corporate governance, flexible funding structures, business performance and strategy, risk management identification and management.
DEBT ADVISORY
Freshwater has substantial experience and track record in debt and project finance transactions representing major banks, corporations and projects as borrowers and lenders. In particular, we have significant experience in property project funding from small property developments and projects to large scale transactions.
Freshwater's team have been involved in debt and structured finance transactions for over 30 years ranging from small loans to multi-million dollar structured transactions.
Freshwater is not a broker service, we work with our clients on their existing banking relationships and expanding finance options. If required, we provide access to our extensive network of investors, banks and financiers.
BUSINESS ADVISORY
Freshwater Advisory works with business owners by providing our services to:
• Develop and manage Business Plans, Core Business Goals and stable business platforms;
• Access to our extensive network of banks, equity and take-out investors and professional service providers; and
• Develop and grow viable businesses and generate growth.
We work with business owners to achieve positive outcomes in business values through identifying and focusing on Improving the integrity of Key Business Areas, targeting
the “value add” triggers that will translate to improvement in business valuations for their business,
advising owners on processes to identify risks to business value and a risk management and mitigation strategy to enhance business value.
When required, we also assist clients facing financial and operating stress by assisting with the restructuring of their business or projects debt obligations and developing viable workout strategies with our clients and their banks to examine options for wealth preservation and recovery. We work on business turnarounds, overhauling business plans to develop ones that will maintain the health of the business long term.
FUNDS MANAGEMENT
Freshwater Funds is a licensed responsible entity with a core business principle of partnering with its investors to create client specific investment funds. These funds, managed by Freshwater, are tailored to satisfy our client’s investment profiles and risk criteria.
Freshwater Funds Australian Financial Services Licence (Number 278530) authorises Freshwater Funds to carry on a financial services business to provide financial advice and deal in financial product for Wholesale clients. We are also authorised to provide funds management, fiduciary and custodial services for Wholesale Clients in Australia and offshore in the following asset classes:
• basic deposit products; deposit products other than basic deposit products;
• derivatives and foreign exchange contracts;
• interests in managed investment schemes, and
• securities.
OUR TEAM
JOHN PACHOLSKI
Director
John is a director of all the Freshwater Group companies. He has over 20 years’ experience in a range of corporate advisory roles which include the structuring and financing of major property and infrastructure debt transactions both in domestic and international property and debt markets.
Prior to founding Freshwater, John has operated his own business providing consulting, corporate and debt advisory services to Federal and State governments, public corporations and private companies in Australia and Asia.
John has held Chief Financial Officer roles with listed property groups including Lend Lease and was Chief Manager Corporate and Institutional Property Finance, Westpac Banking Corporation.
John’s brings to Freshwater an extensive back ground in funds management, structured finance, financial risk management, mergers and acquisitions, debt and capital management in a range of industries including Property, Infrastructure, Resources and Agriculture.
EVAN ELLIOTT
Director
Evan is a director of all the Freshwater Group companies.
He has in excess of 20 years’ experience in the structuring, documenting and negotiating corporate and project finance transactions (including property), legal compliance and corporate governance.
Prior to founding Freshwater, Evan has been in private legal practice as a partner working for financial institutions and clients in the funds management and property industries and was a senior lawyer with two of Australia’s leading banks, Australia and New Zealand Banking Group Limited (“ANZ”) and Westpac.
Evan's commercial experience includes documentation of a broad range of facility and security documents including property and trust related loans, syndicated loans, construction and development loans, small business loans, complex loan structured and security documentation.
